VALENTÍA Y PERSEVERANCIA


Yo admiro al hombre que puede sonreír ante sus problemas, que puede reunir fuerza de la desgracia y que en la reflexión crece en valentía. Es característica de las mentes pequeñas encogerse, pero aquel que es firme en su corazón, y cuya conciencia aprueba su conducta, persevera en sus principios hasta la muerte.

DON'T QUIT


When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high.

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seens slow,
You may sucdeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell hoe close you are,
It maybe near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.



CUANDO SE CREE QUE TODO ES POSIBLE...


Se es joven cuando se tiene impaciencia por los problemas del hombre y no por los problemas personales, cuando se esta animado de constante inquietud, de propósitos de reformas, se es viejo cuando se aspira a la quietud, cuando se mira hacia atrás.

Se es joven cuando se ve la vida como un deber y no como un placer, cuando nunca se admite la obra “acabada y cumplida”, cuando nunca se cree estar ante algo perfecto. Se es joven si se esta lejos de la docilidad y el servilismo, si se cree en la solidaridad y en la fraternidad. Se es joven cuando se quiere transformar y no conservar; cuando se tiene voluntad de hacer y no de poseer; cuando se ve siempre hacia adelante; cuando la rebeldía frente a lo indeseable no ha terminado; cuando se mantiene el anhelo por el futuro y se cree todo posible. Cuando todo esto se posee, se puede tener mil años y ser joven.

Hay juventud con cien años y hay vejez antes de tiempo.
